WATSON! WATSON STOP THAT
OK,
So I want a "watson" system. The same system that was used to beat all the humans at Jeopardy. Is now something that is available for tinkerers to play with.
There are a few ideas that i'd like to explore. First with the onward mach of technology advancement the cost of the hardware to support a Watson system continues to fall. I've read a few posts about people building bare bones systems for under a thousand dollars. Which is exciting.
Second the understanding we have today about the lives of historic figures are biased on written correspondence and in some cases private journals of which there is always precious little available for historians to incorporate into a picture of a person. Today most of our correspondence is recorded either through text message or email. This opens up a really awesome possibility of a Watson systems being able to digest all of your correspondence to create a map of your personality.
When you start looking at personality like a big data problem you could have Watson digest your whole life and understand you. Imagine how useful a digital assistant could be if it had a more complete map of your personality than most of your friends.
This also has the added benefit of giving people a 24/7 presence. When you sleep Watson could assume some of your personality roles and update you on what happened when you woke.
So a few years from now it won't be auto correct blunders but auto-avatars blunders.
